NO NAME PIZZA & PUB - Hilton Head
Want to see sharks swimming in a 600 gallon tank? Go visit the new “No Name Pizza & Pub!”
Of course, great pizza and other good things to eat, fast service, and an overall fun atmosphere are the real reasons to visit. Unless, of course, you are a kid or a kid at heart!
“No Name” opened for business shortly before we went to press. It is the sister restaurant of “Giuseppis Pizza in Sea Pines,” which has been located in Sea Pines Center for almost 30 years.
It offers the same menu, and is under the same ownership and management as its Sea Pines sister. Its “No Name” identity has been adopted to prevent confusion with the nearby Giuseppi’s Pizza & Pasta at Shelter Cove Plaza and Giuseppi’s in Bluffton, which have different ownership and management (the “other” Giuseppis also serves super pizza, and much more).
The menu includes a broad selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, calzones and pasta and, of course, pizza. We have sampled No Name’s pizza, and it is excellent.
Hilton Head’s No Name Pizza & Pub is located in the Fresh Market Shoppes, 890 William Hilton Parkway, about half way between Sea Pines Circle and the entrance to Shelter Cove. It is located on the premises formerly occupied by Del Vecchio’s Italian restaurant.
Family-oriented No Name is open from 11 am until 10 pm, seven days a week. A children’s menu, patio dining (under roof), and delivery (from Folly Field Road south) are available For more information, please call 842- 8700.
BRITISH OPEN PUB - Bluffton
It always is a pleasure to see old friends in the restaurant business open an additional location. It is especially true when we think that their existing restaurants serve really good food!
British Open Pub soon (as this is written) will open its third location at 1 Sheridan Drive, in Sheridan Village, just off the south side of Highway 278 (a little west of Village at Belfair and the intersection of Highway 278 with Route 46). It occupies the thoroughly rebuilt and redecorated premises formerly occupied by the Bluffton Ale House. The South Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles offi ce is nearby.
The new British Open Pub, like its sister restaurants, will feature authentic English food, and lots of golf and British photos, art and memorabilia on the walls and elsewhere, including photos of British Open sites.
If you are unsure what to order, try their excellent signature fi sh and chips, fresh cod dipped in lager batter, fried and accompanied by crispy chips (fries), malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The British Open Pub features lots of other British fare, too, including shepherds pie, steak & mushroom pie, and banger & mash. Patrons also may choose from a wide selection of American appetizers and entrees. The Pub is licensed by Certifi ed Angus Beef, which is all that is served.
Please note that the new British Open Pub will serve the same menu as their Hilton Head Island location.

FLATBREAD GRILLE & BAR - Hilton Head
One of the really nice things about Hilton Head Island is the frequent opening of restaurants that offer great promise. Flatbread Grill is designed to offer an upscale dining experience. However, it is not intended to be a formal restaurant. To the contrary, it is to be a great place to meet friends and family in a friendly, energetic atmosphere.
As patrons step inside, there will be an old world Tuscan feeling enhanced by wonderful aromas coming from the Grill’s Woodstone high temperature pizza oven. If they wish, patrons may sit near the open chef’s kitchen, and watch their food being prepared. If they prefer, they also may be seated in the dining room with a wall of sliding glass panels, or outdoors on either of two attractive decks. There also will be two full bars with indoor and outdoor seating and high defi nition televisions.
Flatbread Grill will offer an excellent selection of moderately priced fare consistent with “upscale casual dining.” Patrons will enjoy Neopolitan pizza, fresh pasta, gourmet salads, burgers, and hardy fl atbread sandwiches.
Flatbread Grill will be located in new, thorougly rebuilt premises in Beach Market Center, at 2 North Forest Beach Drive. Anglers and Daniel’s restaurants are nearby. Beach Market Center is close to the beach, next to Coligny Circle, across the street from Coligny Plaza. Free parking is available underneath Beach Market Center.
Flatbread Grill will be open seven days a week from 11:30 am through dinner. A children’s menu, take-out and delivery will be available.
For more information, please call (843) 341- 2225, or visit www.fl atbreadgrillhhi.com.
FROSTY FROG CAFE & PIZZA - Hilton Head
Hilton Head Island’s famous Frosty the Frog soon will be adding pizza to his bill of fare and substantially expanding his premises.
Frosty has added an extensive selection of deep dish and thin pizzas, calzones, pepperoni puffs and more to his already appealing menu.
The Cafe also offers an appealing menu, in addition to pizza, including lots of appetizers, salads, subs, wraps and sandwiches. Frosty’s prime rib sandwich and 20 ounce Black Angus burger and, of course, frogs legs, are signature items.
Frosty is adding a large, separate new room immediately adjacent to the existing Cafe to accommodate pizza lovers, and also families and friends who enjoy his excellent food!
The “Frosty Frog Cafe & Pizza,” as suggested by its name, also offers an outstanding selection of daiquiries, other frozen drinks, and non-frozen libations as well. Many are available by the drink, half gallon, gallon or in even larger amounts (ask!).
The Frosty Frog is open for lunch and dinner, from 11:30 am until 2:00 am. Enjoy Happy Hour Monday-Friday. Carry-out is available.
The Frosty Frog is located in Coligny Plaza, near Coligny Circle and the ocean. For a map and more information, please call 686-FROG (3764)
